About Friends Of Berrycroft
Our Mission
"Healthier Lives, Stronger Communities"
Friends of Berrycroft exists to reduce health inequalities by pioneering, funding,
supporting and delivering projects that improve health and quality of life
across the Berrycroft communities in north-west Aylesbury.
The area includes the most economically deprived part of Bucks which has a healthy life expectancy of 59.6 years, about 10 years less than a district just two miles away on the opposite side of Aylesbury.

Our Organisation
The idea of a new local charity was conceived during covid when a local GP Dr Jackie Harris found that public funds which were available to support communities could not be claimed by her GP surgery because NHS bodies are not charities. So together with local residents Richard Byford, Charlotte Brewer and Dr Phil Clayton also from the surgery,
Friends Of Berrycroft was formed.
Now we have a board of six trustees and two student trustees who meet monthly, all of whom work on an unpaid voluntary basis. We have started four local projects and are increasing our links with individuals, local community groups and charity funding bodies. As well as delivering projects we also offer funds and logistical support for others
if their application is in line with FoB's mission criteria.
Friends Of Berrycroft is completely separate from the NHS GP surgery Berrycroft Community Health Centre, but shares their vision and focuses on the Surgery's catchment area in north-west Aylesbury. The strong links we have with the local NHS enhances our collaboration and grassroots outreach.
